Published On : 06 Nov 2018

Bengaluru: Dr G Parameshwar, DCM and home minister said that there is no opportunity to carry out any procession be it for or against on the Tipu Jayanti day. Parameshwar held a meeting in connection with Tipu Jayanti with senior police officials including DGP Neelamani Raju at the Vidhana Soudha.

DCM said "On November 10, any programme connected with Tipu Jayanti should be held only inside the auditorium. No banners or flexes should be displayed. If anyone tries to derogate Tipu on social sites, take necessary action."

In addition, Parameshwar also asked the police to be alert as there is a possibility that the opposition BJP may carry out a protest on the occasion. After discussion with the senior police officials, DCM spoke to the media and said that the Tipu Jayanti will be celebrated in Bengaluru at Ravindra Kalakshetra instead of the Banquet Hall of the Vidhana Soudha.
