Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, confirmed that Tipu Jayanti celebrations, which were introduced during the term of the previous government, will be continued this year too.
He said that he is committed to continue to implement schemes and programmes announced by the previous Congress-led regime. Accordingly, Tipu Jayanti will be held.
He noted that many organizations including BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders have been bringing pressure on the government to shelve these celebrations. But these demands will not be met, he clarified.
