31st All India Konkani Parishad will be on Jan. 6-7 at Mumbai

31ST ALL INDIA KONKANI PARISHAD WILL BE HELD ON JAN. 6-7 AT MAHARSHTRA STATE BHARATH SCOUT AUDITORIUM, SHIVAJIPARK, DADAR

Mumbai, Jan. 02: The 2 days 31st All India Konkani Parishad, being sponsored by Konkani bhasha Mandal, Maharashtra, will be held on Saturday, 6th Jan and Sunday, 7th Jan. at Maharashtra state Bharath Scout and Guides Auditorium, Shivajipark (W), Dadar. John D’Silva- vice president of the Bhasha Mandal, said that “the Konkani Parishad will be held in the presidency of Payyannuru Ramesh Pai- well known Konkani writer. And the event will be inaugurated by Vinod Tawde- minister for school education, sports and youth welfare of Maharashtra State”.

Henry Lobo- president of Bhasha Mandal said that “Madam Grace Pinto- administrative director of Ryan International Educational Institutions will be the chief guest at the occasion and she will be releasing the memorial edition and the books of various writers. Albert W. D’Souza- chairman of Model Bank, Gokuldas Prabhu- Hon. Gen. Secretary of All India Konkani Parishad, Varsha Usgaonkar- Film Actress will be the honorary guests”.

Pascal Lobo- deputy secretary of Bhasha Mandal, said- “the first seminar on the topic ‘Mumbai and the anonymous contribution of Mumbai Konkan’s’ will be held in the presidency of Dr. C. N. Shenoy. Then the first music concert will be held in the presidency of Valerian Quadras and later, various cultural programs will be held”.

John R. Pereira- joint secretary of Bhasha Mandal said that “on Sunday (7th Jan) morning the second seminar on the topic ‘National Konkani Channels, requirement and invitation’ will be held in the presidency of Anantha Ammembal, the third seminar on the topic ’50 years of opinion poll and the development of Konkani State’ will be held in the presidency of N. Shivadas, in the noon, the fourth seminar on the topic ‘contribution to the Konkani literature’ will be held in the presidency of Deepak Gad. And the second music concert will be held in the presidency of Prakash Padgaonkar”.

Lawrence D’Souza Kamani, said that the conclusion ceremony of the program will be held at 4:00 P.M. During this occasion, Gopal C. Shetty- MLA of Borivali Vidhan Sabha Constituency will be the chief guest and Pandit Prabhakar Karekar- classical musician, Sunil Gaithonde- vice president of NKGSB Bank will be the honorary guests. Lawrence D’Souza also sought the cooperation and support of the Konkani people present in Maharashtra in making the event a grand success.
