KARNATAKA SANGHA IS THE AMBASSADOR OF MAHARASHTRA-KARNATAKA: SHRINIVASA JOKATTE

Mumbai, June 28: The 81st Annual general meeting of the Karnataka sangha Mumbai was held under the President ship of Shrinivasa Jokatte-The vice President of Karnataka Sangha, on Sunday afternoon at Dr.M Vishweshvarayya Memorial Auditorium, Mahim(W),Mumbai.

The Honarary joint Treasurer Dr Ishwara Alevooru, The executive committee members- Manohara M Kori (ex-president),Dr.S.K.Bhavani, M.D.Rao, Kusuma P Amin and Sheshagiri T were present at the dais.

This association is working as an ambassador of Karnataka and Maharashtra. By giving continuous priority to literature and other quality programmes, the association is now entering into 82nd year with youthful enthusiasm. By organizing - Sahithya Bharathi, Kalabharathi and drama competition the association has become a role model to the people, artists, writers of Karnataka and other associations. The association has got appreciation especially from the play groups from Karnataka. The association is spreading awareness about Kannada language and giving motivation.

Honarary secretary Omdas Kannangar welcomed all and read the annual activities of the association. Honarary joint secretary G.P.Kusuma delivered the reports of special meeting held last year and 80th annual general meeting. Honarary Treasurer N.M.Gudi delivered the annual audit report. Later the election commissioner Narayana G Mendon announced the list of 5 newly elected executive committee members for the year 2015-18. Omdas Kannangar announced the office bearers list for the year 2015-16.

Ashok S Suvarna, Surendra Marnad, Manohar Thonse, Avinash Kamath,B.G.Nayak, N.R.Rao, D.R.Salyan, Mallikarjuna Badigera, Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu spoke on behalf of the audience and wished a steady growth of the association. Secretary Omdas Kannangar proposed the vote of thanks.
