Competition brightens student’s life-John D’silva

Mumbai, Dec 15: Education helps to lead a respectful life. Students should develop competitive minds to achieve greater heights in life. Get education and help others to become educated and help to build a strong nation-said John D’silva, the founder president of Model Bank.

100 years ago the Christian leaders of coastal Karnataka started the Manglorean Catholic Co-operative Credit Society Ltd and now it is called as Model Co-operative Bank Ltd. The bank organized the annual scholarship distribution and talent award programme for the students of its members. It has held on Dec 14th at Xavier Engineering College auditorium, Mahim (W). The executive president of the bank Albert W D’souza presided over the function and D’silva addressed the gathering as a chief guest.

The Model Bank is doing a great work by encouraging the children to become responsible citizens of the nation. This is the result of struggle and unity of our elders. The institution is not only encouraging the students through scholarship but also it supports the moral education, enhanced education and extracurricular activities of the students. This is a good job” said Dr. Y D Venkatesh; the principal of St.Xavier’s Engineering College.

In his presidential speech, Albert D’souza said, “This bank is working for the welfare of the people and encourages the students to have a better future”. Thomas D Lobo expressed his views; Vincent Mathias, CA. Paul Nazarath, Thomas D’Lobo, A. Clement Lobo, Sanjay Shindhe, Marita D Mello, Advocate Piyus Vas, Jerald Cardoza, CEO and General Manager William D’souza were present at the dais.

The Senior Manager Zener D’cruz, HRD Manager Biyeta Carvallo, Chiefs of other branches were present. Albert honored the guests giving flower bouquets. Edward Rasquinha introduced the guests and read the list of the beneficiary students. Additional General Manager Herald M Serao proposed the vote of thanks.
