Billawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry was Inaugurated by the Governor

Mumbai, June 24: “The Inauguration day of BCCI is historically one of the most important days for members of Billawa community of Mumbai. Many members of this community joined together and formed their own chamber of commerce. The chamber was formed under the leadership of Billwa Jagruthi Balaga to guide the youth of this community in the field of industry and business. I feel proud to see the leadership of Billawas in this society and in the development of Maharashtra and Mumbai. Bunts, Mogaveers, Christians and other coastal people came to Maharashtra and now they accepted this land as their home” – said Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, the Governor of Maharashtra state.

Honorable Governor inaugurated the BCCI logo and BCCI Institution, established by Billawa Jagruthi Balaga by lighting the lamp.

The grand opening ceremony of BCCI was held on Saturday evening at Radha Bai Thimmappa Bhandary Auditorium of Buntara Bhavana at Kurla (E). N T Pujary presided over the function. Jaya C Suvarna-the president of Billawara Maha Mandala Mulky and Executive president of Bharat Bank was present as the chief guest. Vinaya Kumar Sorake-the minister of urban development, Navinchandra D Suvarna- the president of Akhila Bharata Billawara Union, Sooru C Karkera-the founder president of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga, Suresh S Pujary-the honarary president, M Susir Kumar-the vice executive president of BCCI were present at the dais.

During the occasion, the great persons of Billawa Community, Jayarama Banan, Ramesh Kumar (Deepa Comferts Mangalore), Advocate Rohini J Salian (Mumbai) and film director Rajashekar R Kotian were honored by the Governor.

“The BCCI is an inspirational forum of Billawa community. BCCI should become a role-model for us. The Billawa people have progressed with selfless service and they deserve a valuable and respectable status. Let this forum achieve success”-said Jaya C Suvarna.

Vinaya Kumara Sorake said, “The differences will break the society and this is not good for a society. By denying discrepancy, and by developing a sense of originality, we should lead the community with dignity”

During the occasion vice executive president of the BCCI D N Suvarna, D B Amin, Mahendra Suru Karkera, directors Chandraya B Karkera, Harish G Amin, Purushothama S Kotian, Asmith B Kulai, Bharath S Pujary, Gangadhara N Amin Karnire, Bhaskar Karnire, Keshava K Kotian, Padmanabha S Pujary, K Bhojaraj, Sharada Suru Karkera, Nithyananda D Kotian, V R Kotian, L V Amin, Babu Shiva Pujary, J M Kotian, J D Karkera, Vijaya Kotian, Chitrapu K M Kotian, N P Suvarna, Yashodha N T Pujary, Santhoshi S Pujary, Krupa Bhojaraj and leaders of Billawa institutions from South Canara, Udupi anad other parts of the nation were present.

At the beginning, N T Pujary offerred the arathi to Koti-Chennaya and Brahmashri Narayana Guru and then inaugurated the programme along with all directors. Umesh Mijar and group performed the drama “Bale thelipule”.

Heera Amin, Nikhitha Amin and Ankitha N Pujary sang the prayer. BCCI secretary and Advocate Anand M Pujary delivered the introductory speech. N T Pujary honored the guests giving bouquets. Sahil Zahir Mangalore compered the programme. Vice executive president of BCCI-D N Suvarna proposed the vote of thanks.
