Bengaluru: EKKVOTE – An Association of Konkani Katholics of Bangalore East, celebrated the feast of nativity of Mother Mary, popularly known in Konkani as ‘Monthi Fest’ with ceremony and gaiety at Sadupadesha Seminary Chapel, Hennur Road on September 8. A great number of Konkani Catholics from all across Bangalore had gathered for the Konkani Mass.

The Solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Vijesh Menezes (OFM Treasurer, Capuchin Provincialate of Karnataka) along with priest Rev. Fr. Lawrence (Rector, Sadupadesha Seminary). As a tradition, the new crop (Nove) was blessed by the priest and around 40 children offered flowers to mother Mary. It was a real treat to watch the beautiful children during the flowers strewing ceremony at the Grotto. The choir uplifted the mood with their beautiful hymns and magical voices. At the end of the ceremony, Sugarcane was distributed to the children after the mass and vegetarian meal was arranged for all.

Joseph Rodriks, President, proposed vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude to all the members of EKKVOTE.

EKKVOTE has been organizing the Monthi Fest celebration from 6 years.
