SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC IS THE PRIORITY OF THE POLICE: IPS ATHULCHANDRA

Mumbai, November 1: The golden jubilee celebration of Model bank is immortal. During such a long period of time it has not opened hundreds of branches but provided transparent service by winning the trust of many people. Extending invaluable service, during the time of economic hardships is the milestone of this institution. Trust, service and quick service are the requirements of public today. These days’ people lack patience. If we understand this and provide a good service to the public, then only the institution can achieve success. This can be achieved by co-ordination. You all lead an honest life. Over the time it will give peaceful life through truthfulness. If you co-operate, we commit ourselves to serve you loyally. Safety of the public is the prime responsibility of the police-said Athulchandra Kulkarni - joint (IPS) Police Commissioner-crime branch of Police Commissionerate Brihanmumbai.

 Athulchandra spoke these words on Sunday while inaugurating the 14th branch of Model Co-operative bank limited at Suvidha square building at Ceasor road of Andheri (W).

The inaugural programme was led by Albert W D’souza - the Executive president of Model Bank. Rev.Fr.Franklin Mathias-the chief priest of Stabile Church of Amboli, Andheri (W) inaugurated the new branch and blessed it.

“We know that, this is the traditional bank which has a great concern for the service of its customers. This is a bank which is quickly responding to the new economic system. Let the bank develop by responding to the environmental projects and public service”-Fr Mathias blessed the bank.

In his presidential speech Albert D’Souza said- “Model bank is the bank of the youth; this bank will give financial support by which a layman can become rich. Bank will always respond to a balanced business and through the RBI guidance the bank has been able to develop many series of services.

The former executive vice-president and local director in-charge Vincent Mathias said- “We feel proud to say that, this is the only co-operative bank having unique status. Development of young industrialists is the main object of the bank. We are on the way to make this bank number one in the co-operative sector. We are ready to be in the competition in global level also”

A century back, the leaders from the Christian community of coastal Karnataka started “The Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Credit Society Limited”, and now it is named as Model Co-operative bank limited. The directors of the bank-Prof.A.P.D’souza, Lazaras Minezas, Clement Lobo, Lawrence Rony D’Souza Shinde, Advocate Pius Vaz,Thomas D Lobo, Paul Nazret, Philip L S Pinto, Sanjay Shinde, Benedicta Rebello,Mariet D’Mello, owners Vishvanath Shetty, Girija Shetty, architect Raphael Cardoza, Raphael Castelino, social worker-Anand P Shetty, Benedicta Rebello, CCCI Exit-president Henry Lobo, Elvina A D’souza,Gladis J D’silva, Pramila V Mathias, Lancy Barboza, Victor D’Kunha, Advocate Jeneview Vaz, The senior managers-Zener D’Cruze and Hilery Mendonsa, former directors, higher officers, chiefs of other branches,customers, shareholders, wellwishers were present and wished success.

The CEO and Managing director William L D’Souza welcomed the guests and introduced them to the audience. The founder president John D’Silva, the executive vice-president William Sequiera, additional General Manager Herald M Serao honored the guests giving bouquets. Miss Leera Cardoza read the Bible. Alvia Morais sang the prayer. The manager-Raskinha conducted the programme. Sabita Paul-the branch manager proposed the vote of thanks.
