THIS ASSOCIATION SHOULD BECOME A MODEL FOR THE UNITY AMONG BUNTS: CA| SHANKAR SHETTY

Mumbai, October 19: The 86th Annual General Meeting of ‘Buntara Sangha Mumbai’, the renowned organization of Bunts community was held on Sunday at Smt. Radhabai T. Bhandary auditorium of Buntara Bhavana of Bhandary Estate situated at Kurla (East), under the presidentship of CA| Shankar B Shetty, the President of the association. In the selection of office bearers of the association for the year 2014-2017, Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty was unanimously selected as the new President of the association, Mrs. Latha Jayarama Shetty as the Executive-President of Women Wing and Vivek V Shetty as the Executive-President of Youth Wing.

The Vice-President – Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, Joint-Secretary – Ulthuru Mohandas Shetty, Joint-Treasurer – Praveen B Shetty, Executive-President of Women Wing – Mrs. Latha P Shetty, Executive-President of Youth Wing – Shivaprasad Shetty, Executive-President of S.M. Shetty Educational Institution – Jayarama N Shetty, Executive-President of Sports Committee – Mahesh S Shetty were present at the dais during the meeting held at Greater Mumbai, the economic capital and commercial city of the nation and thousand of Bunts members were also present during the meeting.

The President - CA| Shankar B Shetty inaugurated the meeting by lighting the lamp and presided over the meeting. The Honorary Chief Secretary - CA| Sadashiv B Shetty read out last year’s annual report and the annual activites. The Honorary Treasurer – Sathish N Shetty presented the annual financial statements. The Secretary – B.R. Shetty informed about the annual report of the organizer of the association, S.M. Shetty Educational Institution, Chandrahasa K Shetty, the Secretary informed about the details of Higher Education Committee and Vasanth Shetty informed about educational and social development.

Shankar Shetty, the President said, “This association should become a model for unity among Bunts. Our unity should be strengthened and should attract the Bunts worldwide. It should encourage our talents, unite the power of youngsters and should develop and proclaim our tradition and culture. I thank everyone who gave me an opportunity to lead this association for three years and let this association develop more and more during the period of the next president”.

Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, the new President said, “I thank all for selecting me as the President of this renowned organization. I confirm that I will manage the progress of the association more differently during my period and strive hard for its development”.

The newly elected President – Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty was honored by the former President – Shankar Shetty, the Women Executive President – Mrs. Latha J Shetty was honored by the former Executive President – Mrs. Latha Prabhakar Shetty and the Executive-President of Youth Wing – Vivek Shetty was honored by the former Executive President – Shivaprasad Shetty by offering them flower bouquets and congratulated them. The electoral officer – D.K. Shetty announced the list of newly elected office bearers.

The Executive-President of Membership Collection Committee – Dr. Prabhakar Shetty B, M.J. Shetty and Kishore Kumar Kutyaru, who registered maximum number of members for the association during last year were eligible for the receiving award “Sarvothkrushta Bunt Karyakartha”. They were felicitated by the President – Shankar Shetty. Buntara Sangha City Regional Committee was eligible for receiving the honor “Sarvothkrushta Pradeshika Samiti”. The office bearers of the committee were felicitated by the ex-president – Aikala Harish Shetty by offering sovereign. Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty announced the list of award winners. The talented students of the community were honored by giving cash, sovereign, etc.

The senior statesman of the association – M.D. Shetty, Trustees – Sudhakara Hegde, Vivek Shetty, Nagriguthu Vivek Shetty, President of Bombay Bunts Association – Shyama N Shetty and other dignitaries, Executive Presidents of Regional Committees and various sub-committees, office bearers and many members were present during the occasion and delivered contextual speech, expressed their opinions and wished for the success of the association. The meeting began with the prayer song of Mrs. Vinoda R K Chouta. The Honorary Chief Secretary – CA| Sadashiva B Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting was concluded with the national song.

KARNIRE VISHWANATHA SHETTY:

He is basically from Karnire Bola Nandabettu of South Canara District. He got his bachelor’s degree from Vijaya College of Mulki. Currently, he is one of the top-most young industrialists, having hotel business. He founded Vasai Taluk Hotel Association for the organization of hotel people and is the Founder-President of that association. He also founded Tulunada Bunts Vasai Taluk in the surroundings of Vasai and is it’s Founder-President and is the renowned efficient organizer of the social work of the environment.

He encourages youngsters through his active participation in many associations-institutions of Greater Mumbai. He is one of the best organizer and philanthropist. Large number of people from the community joined the association as its member because of him and he has been receiving the gold medal given by the association for many years.

Vishwanatha Shetty, as the Executive-President of Social Service – Marriage Committee of the association created new record in the history of the association. He stays with his wife – Mrs. Latha Vishwanath and children - Ms. Rishika V Shetty, Ms. Vaishnavi V Shetty and Master Maharshi V Shetty at Goregaon (East).
