Neha Shetty, The Glorious star of Badminton is Basically from Udupi

Mumbai, October 5: Neha Shetty, the glorious star of the popular Badminton sport is a Tulu-Kannadiga and it’s a great proud of Tulu-Kannadiga that this 12 years old girl has become famous throughout the world now.

Neha Shetty is the daughter of Naresh Shetty and Vijaya N Shetty who is settled currently at Doha Qatar and basically a resident of Udupi Volakadu and is the grand daughter of Srinivas Shetty and Sundary Shetty, residents of Sri Guru Chaya Volakadu. She is the 7th standard student of DPS – MIS School. Right from her childhood days, she has been interested in sports and has brought many prizes to her school.

12 years old girl Neha Shetty who shows excellent performance in Badminton

12 years Neha Shetty has brought an excellent achievement record for Qatar Badminton Association at GCC level which has not been shown ever. By showing excellent performance, she has won in the Under-12 Girls Singles and Under-14 Girls Doubles badminton tournament of GCC nations which was conducted in Kuwait. Moreover, she also gained the name of No.1 player among the players of Singles tournament of Under-12 cateogory.

She joined the Badminton class in 2011. In the beginning itself, she showed her sports power in Badminton. She has participated in many competitions in Qatar and has won many prizes. She showed her excellent achievement by representing Qatar in Under-12 Girls Singles and Under-14 Girls’ Doubles tournament. These achievements in Qatar increased her self-confidence of participating in GCC Open Tournament at Kuwait.

In 2013 Kings (Quarter Badminton Open), she got first place in Singles, in 2014 Kings (Quarter Badminton Open), she got second place in Singles and first place in Doubles, In GCC (Open Quarter) Doubles, she got second place and in 2015 (Quarter Open), she got second place in Singles and first place in Quarter Open.

In the finals of Under-12 Girls Singles category, she defeated the top seeded player Reem Siraj in 3 sets (Scores 12-21, 21-16. 21-6) and in the finals of Under-14 Girls Doubles category, she has won by defeating Sadhvi Krishna, who had to be satisfied with the runner-up position.

Since July 6, 2014, Neha Shetty has been coached by Manoj Shahibjan at Qatar Badminton Association. He has exclaimed that this is the first time in the history of Qatar Badminton Association that success has been achieved in the GCC level tournament conducted outside Qatar.

Neha Shetty exclaimed, “This the best phase of my life. I could not find words to express in this happy moment. Blessings and co-operation of my parents, teachers, elders and my friends are the reasons for my achievement”.
