Prakash Payyar’s ‘NANA’ Tulu Audio CD Released in Dubai

Dubai: Karnataka State Nataka Academy Award Winner, Dhwani Pratishtana's well known multi-talented President, Poet, Dramatist Prakash Rao Payyar’s Tulu Audio Album ‘Nana’ got released at Utsav Auditorium of India Club, Dubai today the 27th of November, 2015 at 11 am. Presided by the president of UAE Exchange Sudhir Kumar Shetty, Chief Guest Editor In Chief of Daijiworld.com, Walter Nandalike & Guest of honour, President of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Sarvotham Shetty on dais along with Prakash Rao Payyar, the programme was opened up by MC Vinay Kumar Naik who invited all the guests to the stage.

Initially all the invitees were enjoying the light music presentations by various local artists who rendered melodious songs in Tulu which gave a meaningful start for the launch of an audio CD.

Prakash Payyar welcomed all the guests, sponsors, well-wishers including the prominent leaders of various associations, media representatives and the invitees. The programme got inaugurated by the lighting of auspicious traditional lamp by the Guests on dais.

Soon the guests inaugurated the cover page of the CD album by opening up the screen on the stage and later the CD' pack was unveiled to the public by Sudhir Kumar Shetty who later distributed the CD's to all the Sponsors and Guests on dais.

"NANA" contained 10 beautiful folk songs penned by Prakash Rao Payyar, Music by Shashidhar Kote, sung by Padmabhushan SP Balasubramaniam, Shashidhar Kote, B.R. Chaya, K.S. Surekha, Manjula Gururaj & Rameshchandra and each one of them being sponsored by various sponsors who were invited on to the stage to click their songs and inaugurated. All the audience listened to the songs one by one and appreciated with big round of applause every time they were played.

Speaking after the release of audio album, Sudhir Shetty praised Payyar’s contribution to Tulu and Kannada language with his commitment in this part of the world. He also said that the highlight of all the songs penned by Payyar is the aroma of the natures original beauty, the village, showcasing the traditional beliefs which is beautifully reflected which is rare one can hear nowadays.

“Payyar so far had shown his talent in drama, poems, direction, literature but now he has proven his skills in releasing an audio album that too beautifully penned by himself. All the songs of Nana album will become intimate to heart as these are really melodious with blend of our rich heritage”, he added. He congratulated Prakash Payyar for his efforts to release the album and thanked him for giving him the opportunity to release the album.

Chief guest Walter Nandalike spoke nicely with a touch of humour and said, “releasing a Tulu album is a challenging job as it has a limited market and less number of listeners nowadays. He also pointed out on the piracy happening nowadays in the internet as within few hours of the release the same songs are leaked and MP3's free downloads get available in the net. He did mentioned the richness of NANA as all the singers therein are well known and professional singers who have contributed with their melodious voice. To get S.P. Balasubramaniam sing a non commercial song is really great attempt and that Payyar has taken lot of trouble to gather all these artists in order to get a real professional touch to the Tulu Song Album, he added.

UAE Exchange being the main sponsor of NANA was supported by Joseph Mathias of Merit Fright shipping, Satheesha Venkataramana of Chilly Willy, Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels, James Mendonsa of Reliable Fabricators, Harish Bangera of Dubai Source, Satish Poojary of Billawas Dubai, Shekar Shetty of Arab Udupi Restaurant, Harish Sherigar of Acme Building Materials, Sunder Shetty of Nihal Restaurant, Ramachandra Hegde of Spray Tek, Mosaco Shipping, Divesh Alva of Woodlands Restaurant, Sarvotham Shetty, Sudhakar Rao Pejavar and Ganesh Kulal are the sponsors who have financed Payyar’s album.

Ganesh Rai who designed the cover page of the Album and Manohar Tonse who was the advisor for Payyar's work expressed their views about the album and wished all the success to Payyar and ‘Nana’ Album.

President of the function, Sarvotham Shetty quoted the words of poet Shivaram Karanth in Kannada and said, “Poems should elaborate the feelings, happiness, sadness and various expressions of a common man. Prakash Payyar has the talent of being a voice of the common man and his feelings. ‘Nana’ album has fresh new songs which promises a new experience in the world of melodies and also will ensure the real essence of the Tulu language and culture. He congratulated Prakash Payyar for his dedication towards the language, art and literature and wished him more success in the coming days.

Sponsors were honoured with shawl and flower by Sarvotham Shetty during the release program.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks and sumptuous buffet lunch.
