Styletech Uchila Lifts GPL Championship

Dubai: The Gangolli Cricketers organized a much awaited popular league cricket tournament “Gangolli Premier League “GPL- SEASON- IV” on the 20th January 2017 at Mamzar Cricket Ground. The Title was lifted by StyleTech Uchila by defeating the Team Nafis Farangipet in the final match. Both the teams had entered the final round after defeating the other two semi finalists i.e. Team Northern Mangalore & Strikers Gangolli.

 

The event was commenced with Qirat recitation at 7.45 am, in front of the assembled players & the guests. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr.Afroz Assadi a well knownManglorean businessman in Dubai as well the owner of Team Northern Mangalore.

Gangolli Premier League – Season IV, the cricket league tournament played with hard tennis ball, resembling Indian Premier League format, where 8 teams were sponsored by different individuals. The players were from Karnataka those who are playing in U.A.E for their local teams. Teams were formed through a selection process by team owners, captains and the management of GPL.

Participated teams and their owners: 1.Attackers Byndoor (Mr.AkeebYusufji&DrNizamuddinGulsha), 2.Strikers Gangolli (Mr.AftarNakuda and MH Samiulla), 3.Challegers Kundapura(Mr.Sameer Shaikh &Mr.AsifShaik), 4.United Udupi (Mr.SaqqafNakhuda), 5.Manipal Dangal (Mr.Imran Khan &Mr.AnsarBarkur), 6.Style Tech Uchila (Mr.SulemanBeary&Mr.Tanveer Kazi), 7.Team Northern Mangalore (Mr. Afroz Assadi), 8.Team Nafis Parangipet (Mr.Mohammed Irshad)

During the presentation ceremony, Sujith of StyleTech Uchila awarded player of the final match, AltafKarkala of Team Nafis Parangipet won the champion player of GPL IV, TousifJamadar of Team Nafis Parangipet bagged the orange cap &FahimKandlur of Team Nafis Parangipet bagged the purple cap of GPL IV. Glittering trophies were handed over to the winning & the runners up team captains/owners. Besides, members of the winning and runners up teams were received their individual cash prizes. Mementos were presented to all the sponsors & co sponsors of the event.

Breakfast, Lunch and beverages were severed during the daylong event. Food stalls with native south Canara snacks had added the attraction to the event. Gift hampers were given to all the players & the spectators, courtesy Gulf International (Johnson & Johnson). All the sponsors, players and spectators applauded the efforts of the organizers for conducting such a great event. The Gangolli Cricketers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the supporters of the event, mainly the team owners and Co-Sponsors (Mr.Sameer Shaikh & Asif Shaik of Johnson & Johnson, Mr.SulemanBary of Muharraq LLC, Mr.Sawood S.M, Mr.Shahnawaz Khan Nitte, Mr.Abdus Sami Al Niqab Trading, Mr.AbdulWahabMomin, Mr.AbdulMatheenMomin, ThabrezVanty, Amar Ballal and Mohammed Siddique).

Mr. AlthafKhalife the convener of GPL mentioned that, the bonding of the GPL gets stronger & stronger every year, the majority of the team owners are associated with GPL since its 1st season. The players are excited to be the part of it always. “We are GPL community”.
