“Tulu language is not an asset of any cast or religion”: Madhwaraj, 

Baroda (Gujarat), October 12: “You are the real Tulu people, because you people formed a Tulu Sangha in Baroda following the values of Brahma Shree Narayana Guru. Tulu language is not an asset of any cast or religion. People belonging to various communities from ST to Brahmins speak this language and this is the language of brotherhood and it is a rich language”- said Pramod Madhwaraj- The minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs, Karnataka.

Pramod Madhwaraj said these words after inaugurating the first and the only one “Tulu Chavadi” formed by Tulu Sangha Baroda at India Bulls Megha Mall at Baroda of Gujarat State.

On Tuesday morning M Janaki Brahmavara-the president of Tulu Sahithya Academy presided over the function. BJP leader and Karkala MLA - V Sunil Kumar, Bharath Dangere-Mayor of Vadodara Municipality, Local corporator Manish Pagar, Harish Poonja, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, K D Shetty, Radhakrishna Shetty, Shrinivasa Jokatte, Dr Dinesh Shetty Renjala were present as the honarary guests.

“These people are real tulu people of Baroda who love their motherland. Speaking in Tulu is an honor. These people have done a great job by respecting the culture of Tulu land and these kinds of work should be done in Tulunadu also. Protecting the culture is the responsibility of mothers and we should strengthen Tulu in this way” – said Sunil Kumar.

In her speech, Janaki Brahmavara said “Through selfless service, we can achieve success. This association has done the same job. We are pleased by the hospitality of these people. Tulu languages will never die and Tulu Sangha of Baroda has proved this”
Harish Poonja, Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, K D Shetty, Radhakrishna Shetty, Dinesh Renjala, and Shashidhar B Shetty expressed their views.

Dayananda Bontra, S K Halenagady, S Jayarama shetty, Priyanka Sunil Kumar, Mahaveera Hegde, Vikhyath Shetty Karkala, D M Kulal, Mohan Koppala Kadri, Ganesh Yarmal, Vijaya Kumar Bhandary, Mohan Kumar Surath, Sharath Shetty Kinnigoli were present and office bearers of Tulu Sangha Baroda honored the guests. Vaishnavi D Shetty sang the prayer. Karnuru Mohan Rai introduced the guests and compeered the programme. Balakrishna Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

Many office bearers of Tulu-Kannada, Bunt-Billawa associations and hundreds of members were present and celebrated the new meal (Puddar) festival. Members of ladies wing sang the Bhajan. Members and children displayed the cultural programme. “Lekka thathi bokka” a Tulu drama was exhibited by Vijaya Kalavidaru Kinnigoli.
