Udupi Vasudeva Bhat Conferred With Swara Surabhi Award

Mumbai, Jan 1: The prestigious state award ‘Swarasurabhi” 2015 was conferred to music scholar Nadavaibhavam Udupi Vasudeva Bhat in the presence of Music scholars, officers of the various department and music lovers at GovardhanaKshetra, Shree Puttige Mutt, Bangalore.

Prema Bhat, the famous Kannada writer and other dignitaries including J. R. Subramanya honoured him with the cash award.

“Vasudeva Bhat dedicated entire life to music and literature and it is complementary to music fans who are conducting such programme through Swarasurabhi Trust” –said Prema Bhat.

“Vasudeva Bhat and his Nadavaibhava institution is a model for how a teacher and a good person should be” -opined J. R. Subramanya Bhat.

Pandit B. V. Radhakrishna Bhat Hindustani artist, Sheka rAjekar – the journalist and President of Akhila Karanataka Beladingala Sahitya Sammelana Samiti, Sunanda Vasudeva Bhat were present as guests.

ShirdharIyer the President of institution delivered introductory speech and welcomed all. M.S. Giridhar, Vasudha and others co-ordinated to the programme. Many groups of Swara Surabhi and famous artists exhibited their music talent in the programme.
