Mumbai, August 18: The Vittlapindi Utsav was celebrated on a grand scale just like in Udupi on Monday at the Mumbai branch of Pejawara Mutt, situated at Prabhat Colony of Santacruz (East).

The Seer of Pejawara inaugurated Krishna Leelotsava celebration by inaugurating Krishna Janmaashtami programmes during the late night of Sunday as per religious methods. He performed mahapooja, Krishnadhyi Purana, etc. Before that, Anantha Kulakarni group presented the songs of Dasa.

Bhajana workshop was conducted by Mumbai famous Bhajana Mandali on Monday morning. Shri Krishna’s Shobhayatra was conducted with Krishnavesha competition, Chende vaadhya by various Bhajana Mandali jointly, Huli vesha, Thattiraya Yakshagana vesha, etc. During the procession, the Seer of Jagadguru Shri Madhwacharya Maha Sansthan Udupi Shri Pejawara Mutt – Shri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji and the younger seer of Pejawara Mutt Shri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Shripada also came along with the idol of Shri Krishna in a decorated vehicle. Ashok Kodyadka group and Ramdas Kotian group also participated in the process.

After the procession, Shripadaru blessed the devotees giving blessing speech. Prasannagudi Team sang the songs of Dasa and Prasanna Bhargava party sang devotional songs. Poornaprajna Vidyapeeta Foundation Mumbai and office bearers of Chathurmasya Welcome Committees of both the Seers, President of Chathurmasya Welcome Committee Dr. Suresh S Rao Kateel, Working President Dr. M.S. Alva and hundreds of devotees participated in this celebration.

Following programmes will be conducted continuously for 7 days from Tuesday onwards: Harikatha Kalakshepa by Vidwan Kairabettu Vishwanath Bhat daily evening from 5.30, Bhagavata discourse by Pejawara Shri from 7o’ clock. The administrative officers of Pejawara Mutt’s Mumbai branch requested all the devotees of Mumbai to have the darshan of Shri Krishna and have his blessings.
