The Governor of Maharashtra K. Sankaranarayanan gave the Sadbhavana Pledge

Mumbai Aug. 20 : The Governor of Maharashtra K. Sankaranarayanan gave the Sadbhavana Pledge to the staff and officers of Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the 70th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister of India late Shri Rajiv Gandhi at Raj Bhavan. The birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi is observed as ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’. Secretary to the Governor Vikas Chandra Rastogi and Deputy Secretary Parimal Singh were present on the occasion.


Jawans of the State Reserve Police Force and Mumbai Police posted at Raj Bhavan and the staff of Public Works Department at Raj Bhavan also read out the Pledge with the Governor. Earlier the Governor offered flowers to the portrait of late Shri Rajiv Gandhi.
The Sadbhavana Day Pledge calls upon the people ‘to work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, creed, region, religion or language’ and to ‘resolve all differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence’.
