New Delhi, DHNS: BJP parliamentarians from Karnataka on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex demanding a CBI probe into suicides of two DySPs B K Ganapathi and Kallappa Handibag.

MPs led by B S Yeddyurappa, demanded the probe from a central agency due to the alleged involvement of several top police officers in these incidents.

‘Resignation not enough’
Yeddyurappa told reporters that the mere resignation of former home minister K J George was not enough.

Instead, the state government should take steps to instill confidence among the officers to perform their duties without any external pressure.

He said he would raise the incidents of police officers’ suicides in Karnataka in Lok Sabha also.
