Bengaluru DHNS: Students who appeared for the physics and chemistry examination on the second day of the Common Entrance Test (CET)-2016 on Friday, found the going fairly easy. They hopes to get good scores in both the subjects.

A number of students who spoke to Deccan Herald said chemistry paper was “very easy” while a few others described physics paper as “moderately difficult”.

For Likith L N, chemistry was easy while it was not the case with physics. “A few questions in physics paper were quite difficult. I am expecting around 30 marks out of the total 60 in the paper. In chemistry, I am quite sure of getting 45 marks,” he said.

Pruthvi Kumar, a student of Narayana PU College, said: “The physics paper was average while chemistry paper was quite easy. I am expecting around 45 in chemistry and 30 in physics.”

Tejaswini, a student of MES Kishore Kendra said she is confident of getting almost full marks in both the papers. “The two papers were very very easy. I did very well and I am expecting nothing less than 55 marks in chemistry and 50 in physics,” said Tejaswini, who is hoping to land an engineering seat in a top institute.

Coaching institutes that analysed the two papers said that average students could easily score between 30 to 35 in chemistry and around 20 in physics. Of the total 1.78 lakh students who had enrolled for the CET, 1.71 lakh appeared for the physics and chemistry exam.

CET uncertainity

Meanwhile, uncertainty still looms large over the validity of CET for entry into medical and dental seats. The Supreme Court on Thursday deferred the matter on the validity of the CET and other state entrance exams till Friday, said Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash R Patil.

Meanwhile, students are anxiously awaiting the apex court order. Pooja Ayachit, a student aspiring to study medicine, has been glued to the news about the NEET everyday. “It is quite disappointing that the matter has been put off for another day. The decision should be taken as soon as possible,” she said.
