Hubballi,(DHNS): Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra instructed the state government and the High Court to take steps for appointing court managers at district courts to work as facilitators for speedy disposal of cases.

Speaking after inaugurating the new court complex built at a cost of Rs 122 crore here on Sunday, the CJI stated that lack of funds should not be an excuse for the government while providing infrastructure to the courts. He said that MBA degree holders could be considered for the post of court managers.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who spoke on the occasion, said that only a few courts in the state were being run from rented buildings and they would have their own buildings soon. Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Dinesh Maheshwari, said that a committee headed by the chief secretary has been constituted to attend to the infrastructure needs of the Judiciary, on a fast-track mode.
