Bengaluru, DHNS: State BJP president B S Yedyurappa on Saturday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of deliberately delaying the decision of seeking the resignation of Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait on charges of watching pornography.

“The chief minister is deliberately delaying seeking his (Sait’s) resignation. People will teach this government an appropriate lesson,” he told reporters on seeking his reaction on the issue.

Yeddyurappa described Sait’s move to file a case against a Kannada news channel that aired visuals of him watching pornography, as “height of stupidity”. The ruling party should ensure that the upcoming state legislature session runs smoothly by removing Tanveer Sait from the ministry. The government should not give any scope for disruption of the proceedings, he added.

Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda demanded that Sait immediately resign as minister. Instead of resigning, the minister has filed cases against media persons, he added.
