Bengaluru, (DHNS): Speculation was rife that popular Kannada actor Darshan will make a foray into electoral politics through Congress. The party, however, denied having approached the actor.
“This is news to me. I don’t know anything about Darshan joining the Congress,” Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwara told reporters. “Not just Darshan, there’s been no discussion on roping in Puneeth Rajkumar or Shiva Rajkumar as star campaigners,” he said.
In fact, Darshan’s mother Meena Thoogudeepa Srinivas is a KPCC secretary. “I don’t know about Darshan joining the party,” she said. “To join or not is his personal choice. I will discuss the matter with him.”
