Deepak Rao given a solemn farewell

Mangaluru, (DHNS): The last rites of the slain BJP activist Deepak Rao was performed by his younger brother Satish in accordance with the Shivaji Kshatriya customs, in Mangaluru on Thursday.

Satish lit the pyre at the Janata Colony crematorium here.

Hindu activists shouted the slogan "Deepak Rao amar rahe" as the last rites were performed. They also sang bhajans.

Arrangements were made for the viewing the body for just a while, before cremation.
