Shivmogga (The Hindu): The webchat organised by The Hindu on Wednesday with B.S. Ranjan, who topped the State by scoring 625 out of 625 marks in this year’s Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, proved to be an exhilarating and interesting session. Mr. Ranjan is a student of Poornaprajna Education Centre, Bhadravati.

Mr. Ranjan replied to the queries from people on methods he adopted to prepare for the examination, his future plans and goals.

To a question on the present education system, Mr. Ranjan said that the process of examination and evaluation needed to be overhauled and it was necessary to make the system foolproof.

He said that the donation menace should end and access for quality education should be provided for the meritorious students.

When quizzed whether he would like to go abroad for higher studies, he said, “If I get an opportunity to pursue higher education abroad, I would opt for it. However, after completing my studies, I would like to serve in my homeland.”

People from Singapore, France and Australia also took part in the interaction. Congratulatory messages poured in with suggestions for him to opt for the civil services.
