Bengaluru, (DHNS): The state BJP is planning to hold a political convention of Muslims in the coming months ahead of the Assembly polls early next year.
Speaking after inducting several leaders from the Muslim community into the BJP here on Friday, party state president B S Yeddyrappa said the plan is to invite 25,000 Muslims from across the state to the convention. He said Muslims were fed up with ‘vote back politics’ of the Congress and were turning towards the BJP. The overwhelming support the BJP got in the recent Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh was an indication in this direction, he said.
Union Ministers and BJP election in-charge for Karnataka Assembly polls, Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal, will be in Bengaluru on Saturday to participate in a party meeting.
