Bengaluru, (DHNS): BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Friday predicted that the H D Kumaraswamy government will not last long due to differences between the coalition partners, the Congress and the JD(S).

Addressing BJP’s first state executive committee meeting after the Assembly elections, Yeddyurappa said that the JD(S)-Congress coalition was showing signs of instability.

Calling upon his party leaders to “welcome” ruling party MLAs to the BJP camp, Yeddyurappa appealed to them to forego their heartburn in case of such defections.

“This unholy alliance will not last long. There is a lot of infighting between the coalition partners. But let us not talk about the government - it is scripting it’s own downfall. Many Congress and JD(S) leaders are willing to join the BJP. I appeal to you (MLAs) - keep your insecurities aside and bring those MLAs who are able and honest to the BJP. Many of them are interested to jump camps - do what you have to. Go to their homes and coax them. Bring them to the party and strengthen it,”he said.

He cautioned his party leaders against making controversial statements before the media. “We have to be careful while making any statements before the media. First understand the party’s stand properly and then make statements. Don’t create confusions by issuing controversial statements,” he added.

‘Minority budget’
Terming the budget to be presented by Kumaraswamy as a “minority budget,” Yeddyurappa said that the budget would lack sanctity, as it didn’t have Congress’ support. “This is a budget of 37 MLAs. It does not have Congress’ support,” he added.

Lok Sabha polls
Yeddyurappa said that the Karnataka unit of the BJP should do everything in its capacity to ensure that the party came back to power at the Centre. He also asked the party leaders to start preparations for the Lok Sabha elections immediately. “The BJP should win at least 25 Parliamentary seats in Karnataka to take forward Narendra Modi’s vision,” he added.

Resolution
The BJP executive committee resolved to give a call to the people to reject the “unholy” coalition government; highlight the achievements of the Modi government; finalise action planfor running the 8-point campaign on four years of Modi government and launch massive protests if the state government doesn’t start ensuring governance
