Guest lecture at AIET MBA Mijar -STAN GOVEAS -CANADA

Department of Business Administration, Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mijar, Moodbidri conducted invited guest lecture on ‘How to start a Successful Business’ by Mr. Stan Goveas, Director of Business Operations at Rock of Colors, Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The function was presided by Dean Prof.P.Ramakrishna Chadaga and attended by Faculty and students.

Mr. Stan Goveas shared his experience, the way he build up Canada’s most successful Coffee outlet brand ‘Second Cup’ and the diversification into Granite business. He spoke about the different qualities required for becoming successful entrepreneurs like different line of Products in business, keeping healthy Life Style, Analytical ability, Good networking skills, build business plan, execute it, and then maintain business acumen.

He emphasized on sales, different sources of revenue, profit, upgrade the Business functions using technology, ‘Confidence’ of promoter(s). To promote business using low cost Advertising and Marketing. The importance of having independent Website for any particular business.Introducing Products and Services, learning from mistakes, Research orientation, E-mail system, getting regular feedback from customers, Revising Business Strategy.

For Job seekers (students), Mr. Stan Goveas given the guidelines – stand out in crowd, cost cutting at work, being Innovative, recommendations to managers about innovative ideas, presentations, team meetings, Hard work, take Leadership, participate in Debates, coach juniors.
