Heggade announces Rs 10 cr for relief

Mangaluru, (DHNS): Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade has announced Rs 10 crore from Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala to the flood and rain victims of Kodagu district and Sakleshpura taluk.

He said Rs 25,000 each will be given for the construction of houses of those who have lost their houses in Kodagu district. Accordingly, Rs 2.61 crore will be spent on 1,044 houses.

For the purchase of day to day household items, Rs 15,000 each will be given to 1,335 households. With this, a sum of Rs 2 crore would be spent.

About 1,450 acres of farmland belonging to 1,17 families have been damaged in Kodagu.

For the rejuvenation of agriculture, each family will be given Rs 25,000. Rs 60 lakh was sanctioned for rain-affected families of Sakleshpura and Arakalagoodu.

He further said that 6,750 permanent employees of SKDRDP will contribute their salary of three days for the CM’s Relief Fund. Overall, a total of Rs 2 crore will be contributed to CM’s
Relief Fund.

A total of 1,000 members of SHGs coming under SKDRDP have borrowed loans and are not able to repay it due to adversities of nature. The repayment instalments have been rescheduled for 12 weeks.
