ICYM Cascia Unit honours St. Gonsalo Garcia of Bassein

ICYM Cascia Unit honoured St. Gonsalo Garcia of Bassein – Patron of ICYM at the youth gathering programme on Sunday eve, 10th February 2019 at 6:30 pm in St. Rita Church Hall, Cascia. As St. Gonsalo Garcia of Bassein was born on 5th February 1556 and expired on the same day in the year 1597 and 6th February is celebrated as feast of St. Gonsalo Garcia of Bassein.

 

 

Rev. Fr Harold Mascarenhas - Parish Priest, St. Rita Church, Cascia presided over the programme along with Rev. Fr Rupesh Madtha - Resident Priest - St. Rita Church, Cascia, Jossy Theodore - Vice President, Vivita Dsouza - Secretary, Cascia Parish Pastoral Council were the dignitaries of the programme. Rev. Fr Harold Mascarenhas enlightened the youth by addressing on how youth should build their career and be successful individuals in the society. Rev. Fr Rupesh Madtha addressed the youth with a talk on year of youth which brought enthusiasm in the minds of youth.

On this auspicious youth gathering, St. Gonsalo Garcia of Bassein was honoured by offering roses by the youth. Rollen David Cutinha - President, ICYM Cascia Unit welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a fellowship dinner. It was a fun-filled day and a day to remember.
