Mangaluru, (The Hindu): The BJP’s election in-charge in the State Prakash Javadekar said here on Tuesday that the coming Assembly elections will be a fight between two different political cultures — the BJP and the Congress.

Addressing party workers at its district office, he said: “The Congress culture is about caste, money and family. While the BJP culture is all about dedication, determination and discipline.”

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development said that the whole nation is watching Karnataka elections. He said that the ideology of the Congress is family-centric whereas the BJP’s ideology is inclusive. That is why ordinary persons like Narendra Modi, Ramnath Kovind and Venkaiah Naidu, who despite their humble backgrounds, have gone on to become the Prime Minister, President and Vice-President, respectively. It can happen only in the BJP, he said.

He said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is only dividing society on the basis of religion.

Mr. Javedkar said that Mr. Siddaramaiah cannot claim that Anna Bhagya is his scheme. The scheme is happening because the Union government bore the lion’s share of the cost from procurement of paddy till distribution in fair price shops. Mr. Siddaramiah has cut 20% in the State’s budgetary outlay, he said.

Mr. Javadekar said that drug and sand mafia are having a free run in Dakshina Kannada and the district has witnessed five murders in last 28 days.
