Bengaluru: Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Limited, the pride company of the Government of Karnataka is known for its Mysore Sandal Soap since 1916. The historic and pride company is all set to complete its 100th year on May 10 2016. We feel proud and happy to announce that even to this date the product 'Mysore Sandal Soap' is the most sought after brand by the consumers.

It is the only soap in the world that contains natural sandalwood oil. This has elevated the soap to become the intellectual property in India. The soap is accredited with the geographical indication registry.

In a FMCG sector a brand to remain in the hearts of the consumers for 100 years is in no way a small achievement. This could be possible only due to the consistent quality provided by the company for over 10 decades and the trust the brand loyal consumers have on us.

Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Limited being a public sector company, competing with other multinational companies is not an easy task. With competition too the company has gained good market share for its products and is steadily growing year over year both in terms of value and tonnage.

During the financial year 2014-15 the company achieved a turnover of Rs 407.00 crore as against previous year turnover of Rs 353.00 crore which is 15% growth. The net profit after tax is Rs 45.19 crore during 2014-15 as against the previous year net profit of Rs 32.R4 crore.

Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Limited is happy to announce that the shareholders and board of directors have approved a dividend of Rs 6.00 crore to be paid to the Government of Karnataka. The dividend is handed over to chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah. We are also happy to announce that keeping in mind the social responsibility we are handing over a cheque of Rs 50.00 lac to the chief minister towards chief minister relief fund, Government of Karnataka.

During the 100 years celebration, Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Limited has planned for the centennial celebration on a grand scale on May 10 2016 at Bengaluru inviting all eminent personalities. To mark this occasion the company has already taken up the work of beautification of the factory at Mysuru and Bengaluru. It has also taken up the project of modernizing the machineries to the latest technology.

For the financial year 2015-16 the company has set an ambitious sales target of Rs 450.00 crore and also intends to launch a new soap with the brand name 'Mysore Sandal Centennial' which will be of 100 grams with MRP of Rs 100 with an exclusive packing to mark the occasion.
