Hubballi, DHNS: Amid warnings of disciplinary action from the party, Leader of Opposition in the Council K S Eshwarappa has asserted that he will go ahead with the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade convention at Kudala Sangama on January 26.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that plans are afoot to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the state-level convention.

Eshwarappa was in Hubballi to take part in a Brigade event, from where he proceeded to Vijayapura.

“I will remain loyal to BJP till my death and shall never indulge in anti-party activities. I will not criticise B S Yeddyurappa, for he will soon realise the intentions behind the Brigade’s formation,” he said and added, “I have not received any notice from the party’s national president Amit Shah and will not receive in future too. All this is the media’s figment of imagination.”

Eshwarappa demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah release a White Paper on the central government grants utilised by the state government in the last four years towards drought management.

The BJP was ready to be a part of the state government delegation to the Centre seeking waiver of loans sought by the farmers from nationalised banks, he added.
