Udupi, (DHNS): The election campaign vehicle of Udupi district incharge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj was seized as it was being used without obtaining valid permission.

A team led by IAS probationary officer Poovitha seized the vehicle, which had the photographs of the minister and the party symbol. Poovitha told DH that although the permission for campaigning was issued till March 31, the poll code of conduct came into existence on March 27.

As a result, permission should have been renewed for campaigning. Action would be taken by the court against the driver and the party, who are considered the accused. Once the candidature of Madhwaraj is finalised, he would be considered an accused.
