MLC polls:Cong yet to decide on truck with JD(S)

Bengaluru. DHNS: All India Congress Committee (AICC)?General?Secretary incharge of party affairs in State Digvijay Singh on Sunday said the party has not taken any decision on an alliance with the JD(S) for forthcoming Legislative Council polls from local authorities.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of an event in Bengaluru, Singh said the party will shortlist its candidates for 25 Legislative Council seats to be filled from local authorities constituencies, once the Election Commission of India comes out with the calendar of events for the polls. ?Singh said that the list of nominations to various boards and corporation will also be announced soon.

Later in the day, Singh met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the latter’s official residence “Cauvery”.

He will continue his discussion with Siddaramaiah?and State Congress chief G?Parameshwara in Bengaluru on Monday.

Political situation in the state and an alliance with the JD(S)?for the Council polls are likely to be discussed, sources said.
