Belagavi, DHNS: Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader told the Legislative Assembly that the state would write to the Centre to make kerosene available to LPG connection holders and also in the open market.

Replying to Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri (BJP), Khader said the Centre has been giving kerosene at a subsidised rate, but has cut the allocation. Kageri said people of Malnad region require kerosene to light lamps as they face severe power shortage. Those who get LPG cylinders are not getting kerosene under the public distribution system, he added.
