Manipal.(The HIndu): The three-day National Conference on Applications of Mathematics and Statistics in Engineering 2018, sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), began at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) here on Wednesday.
A press release issued here on Thursday said that the conference, hosted by Department of Mathematics, MIT, is expected to buttress the knowledge of researchers and academicians in the field.
Asok Nanda, Professor, IISER, Kolkata, inaugurated the conference and set the tone for the exciting knowledge dissemination by addressing the vital aspects of mathematics and statistics in his keynote speech.
Pradeep G. Bhat, Head, Department of Mathematics and organizing chairman of NCAMSE (2018) welcomed the gathering.
B.H. Venkatram Pai, Joint Director, MIT, Manipal presided over the function. Prathima J., Associate Professor and Convener gave an overview of the conference.
