Raichur, DHNS: Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait on Thursday was in the eye of a storm after he was caught viewing pornography on his phone at a Tipu Jayanti function here.

The minister inaugurated the function, organised by the district administration at Pandit Siddaram Jambaladinni auditorium, and addressed the audience. Later, when a professor, Dr Arun Jolada Kudligi, was speaking, the minister was seen viewing porn on his phone.

The minister was seated at the centre of the stage, which was shared by parliamentarian B V Nayak, deputy commissioner Sasikant Senthil, zilla panchayat chief executive officer M Kurmarao and Congress leader Syed Yasin.

Legislator S Shivaraj Patil, who was to preside over the function, left the venue after the inauguration due to an emergency. “If the minister, who is in charge of Raichur district, had indeed indulged in an act not befitting his position, it is condemnable. If he has erred, he must publicly seek an apology,” Patil said.
