Mount Carmel emerges winner in grand finale

Bengaluru, (DHNS): Curtains came down on the seventh edition of the Deccan Herald Metrolife Fashion Show, presented by TRENDS with a grand finale being held at Dayananda Sagar Institutions, Kumaraswamy Layout.

The first prize was won by Mount Carmel College that presented a collection that symbolised the blend of nature with technology. The mainly white outfits had a hint of colour and the highlight of the show was when two models came in on motorised roller blades.

The second prize went to Surana College which presented a stunning collection in shades of beige with a touch of glitter and shine interspersed with sombre hues. The third prize went to Army Institute of Fashion and Design for a range that was aimed at the modern woman. The girls started off in black drapes which later gave way to satin and tulle outfits in pink and white with extravagant embellishments.

Fourth place went to T John College. They presented outfits which depicted the simplistic view of the youth and had printed dresses with hand-painted drapes that added a colourful surprise element.

Fifth place went to Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, Doddaballapur Campus for a minimalistic collection of grey and black outfits with white drapes. Sixth place was bagged by St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) for a futuristic range of garments that were predominantly black and silver.

Seventh prize went to The Oxford College of Science for a range that comprised black dresses with white flowery embellishments. CMR Institute of Technology won the eighth place for a collection that saw Indo fusion outfits with glittery skirts, drapes and dhotis.
Ninth place went to Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, Richmond Circle.

The team from the institute showcased innovative silhouettes that represented different uniforms and this was complemented by quirky headgear. CMR University bagged the tenth place for a line of bright vibrant outfits with glow-in-the-dark props.

Dinesh of The Oxford College of Science bagged the title “Best Male Model” and Akshara of Mount Carmel College was adjudged the “Best Female Model.”

Apart from the competitive round, the students showcased the latest collection from TRENDS in the brand round. The judges for the event were fashion guru Prasad Bidapa, fashion designer Paresh Lamba, Sandalwood actors Raghu Mukherjee, Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee and Radhika Chetan as well as fashion blogger Anuja Pandey.

The guest of honour was Sandalwood actor Ragini Dwivedi.
