Nitte student dies in accident

Mangaluru, (DHNS): A student of the Nitte Institute of Architecture, Derlakatte, Mangaluru, was killed on the spot when his car hit the divider and overturned on the DC Office Road in Manipal late Saturday night.

According to the police, the deceased is Ivan Anil Kumar, 20, from Kannur in Kerala. He along with his three friend was in the car at the time of the accident. Ivan’s friends have all suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Manipal. Manipal police said that rash and negligent driving is said to be the cause of the mishap.

All the four had come to Manipal to meet their friend. A case is registered in Manipal police station.

Youth drowns

An 18-year-old II PU student drowned in sea at Kodi, Kundapur, on Sunday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manoj Poojary. He, along with some of his friends, had been to beach, when a huge wave washed him away. The search is on for the missing body.
