Mysuru, DHNS: Former revenue minister V Srinivas Prasad, who resigned as MLA recently, has hit out at Home Minister G Parameshwara and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“People know what I am and what Parameshwara is. Did Parameshwara join politics knowing about people’s hardships? I?know how Parameshwara became minister,” Prasad told reporters here on Monday.

Raising Siddaramaiah’s Rs 70-lakh wrist watch issue, Prasad said that Parameshwara, after being appointed as Home Minister, had said that it was a stolen watch and he had claimed he had documents related to it. “Parameshwara had blamed Siddaramaiah for his defeat in the Assembly election and had claimed that Siddaramaiah worked against him (Parameshwara).

Now, on what moral grounds, Parameshwara is speaking against me?” he sought to know.

Criticising Siddaramaiah, Prasad said, Dalits were not allowing Siddaramaiah to enter Dalit colonies during the 2006 by-election. “I convinced the Dalits to support him,” said Prasad, and asked Siddaramaiah to recall the Chamundeshwari constituency byelection.

Prasad said that he will organise a convention in Nanjangud to show his strength in the constituency. “I?will convey to the people, why I?resigned as MLA. I have to apologise to them.”
