Protest near Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru, DHNS: everal organisations under the aegis of Mahadayi Kalasa-Banduri Mahandolana Samiti staged a dharna in front of Vidhana Soudha seeking justice to the people of North Karnataka.

They also demanded that the state government provide compensation to the women and elderly persons affected by the police excesses in Navalgund taluk of Dharwad district and release innocent persons arrested in connection with the protests.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met the protesters and told them that the government would put in all possible efforts to ensure that North Karnataka gets its due share of the Mahadayi waters.
