Mangaluru, (THe Hindu): Leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal on Sunday accused the State government of being vindictive against their activists.

In a protest meeting held at Sanghaniketan here, RSS leader M.B. Puranik accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of disturbing peace in the region by asking the police to arrest Bharatiya Janata Party Backward Classes Morcha State secretary Sathyajit Surathkal, Bajrang Dal State convenor Sharan Pumpwell and three other activists in connection with violence during the procession of the mortal remains of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala in BC Road on July 8.

VHP district president Jagadish Shenva said that while the police were pressing for the arrest of Hindu activists, there has been no arrests so far in connection with the murder of Sharath Madiwala. Activists assembled at the Sanghanikethan and posted cards addressed to Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala asking him to look into the actions of the government against Hindus.
