Rains pound several districts

Bengaluru, (DHNS): Several parts of the state continued to receive rain on Friday and Saturday.

Widespread rainfall was reported in Bidar district in the last 24 hours. Incessant showers pounded the city on Friday and Saturday. According to Met department, the district received 31 mm of average rainfall. Due to heavy rains in parts of Telangana, bordering Bidar district, heavy inflow was recorded in the catchment areas of Karanja reservoir. Moderate rain lashed Dharwad city.

Moderate showers were reported from different parts of Raichur district. The rains have proved beneficial to farmers even as the Met department forecasts more showers.

A 65-year-old man was killed after dilapidated walls of his house fell on him at Bilichakra tanda near Yadgir on Friday. He was admitted to the district hospital, where he died.
