Relief materials for Kerala, Kodagu

Mangaluru, (DHNS): Dakshina Kannada district administration has started collecting relief materials to be sent to neighbouring Kodagu district and Kerala.

Teams have been constituted to collect relief materials at KPT hall. MCC Joint Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak (9448951722), Deputy Director of industries H S Narendra Babu (9663374033), probationary AC Santhosh Kumar (9483570317 have been appointed as nodal officers.

The Dakshina Kannada Milk Union has sent 17,000 litres of long shelf life milk to flood-hit Kerala. According to MD B V Sathyanarayana, the National Dairy Development Board will purchase 96,000 litres Trupti milk at concession rate to supply it to Kerala, free of cost.

The ABVP too has started collecting relief materials and raising funds in colleges, shops at PVS, Ambedkar Circle and other areas. Senior ABVP leaders are already in the rescue operation. A few ABVP leaders are volunteering at the rescue operation sites at Madikeri, Kushalnagar and Somwarpet.
