Udupi, (DHNS): The police are reportedly interrogating several people in connection with the suspicious death of Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swami and the probe has been intensified. The police are investigating from all angles.
There are rumours that Jagga, who was in the Shiroor Mutt since his childhood and was part of the internal security of the late seer, is also being questioned. The police once again visited the Shiroor Mutt in Udupi and collected crucial information, it is learnt. It is said that one of the police teams has reached Mumbai to find the clues regarding the death of the seer in connection with land mafia. The SP said that the investigation is in progress and all aspects are being thoroughly looked into.
Meanwhile, Sode Mutt seer Vishwavallabha Theertha Swami has taken an initiative to form a five-member committee to look into the assets of the Shiroor Mutt. The team will be in charge of the Mutt until the new seer is appointed.
