Bengaluru, (DHNS): With Chief Minister Siddaramaiah poised to create history - the first chief minister in 40 years to complete a full five-year term - he took to social media to bid farewell while batting for primacy for Kannada and the state's own flag.
"I thank the people of Karnataka for this honour...Going forward, we will work with all to strengthen and build the Karnataka model of development," he wrote in a Facebook post. "The Nava Karnataka we build together is one where the Kannada language has primacy, where the Kannada dhwaja (flag) will stand tall and proud and where Karnataka makes India proud."
He also wrote that Karnataka should become a state where all children are assured of ten years of quality education, youth get skill training, assured irrigation for farmers, free education for girls, laptops for economically weaker sections, among others. Most of these are programmes announced by his government.
