Udupi, (The Hindu): Percussionist Sivamani enthralled the people who had come here to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the music school here on Friday by playing the drums. He played the folk music of Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Karnataka, on the drums.

On the demand from people, he played the music given during the ‘Dollu Kunitha’ and ‘Huli Vesha’ at the Shiroor Moola Mutt here.

He was accompanied by Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt, who was also playing the drums by his side. The drums belonged to the seer, who was cautioning all those around against damaging the drums. “I have taken lot of care of these drums for years. Do not damage them,” the seer said.
