Tungabhadra reservoir gets 5 tmcft water in 24 hours

Tungabhadra reservoir continued to receive good inflow following heavy showers in Malnad region in the past one week.

The live storage in the reservoir, in Ballari district, has shot up to 16.38 tmcft on Saturday from 11.91 tmcft on Friday.

In 24 hours till 8 am on Saturday, the reservoir received more than 5 tmcft. The inflow as recorded on Saturday, was a staggering 52,136 cusecs.

In the last three days, TB dam received 11 tmcft water. Increase in water levels at Tungabhadra have lifted the hopes of the farmers of the parched Koppal, Ballari, Raichur districts.
