Mysuru, (DHNS): Former parliamentarian A?H?Vishwanath who has quit the Congress said he will join the JD(S) at its Bengaluru office in the presence of the party supremo H?D Deve Gowda on Tuesday.

Speaking to journalists here on Sunday, he said: “With 40 years of active politics in the Congress party, I?am now joining the JD(S). I?may be changing the party, but my political ideology remains the same.” He said he was committed to secularism and that being a politician, he remained ambitious. “Polarisation of politics is nothing new. I?have enough knowledge of politics. I?will work for the JD(S) and my followers have supported me,” he said. According to him, many of his followers who were working with the Congress have resigned from the party’s primary membership and all of them would join the JD(S) on July 4.

To a question, Vishwanath said the BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa, was his good friend and he respected him.
