Waiting for Guv's date for Cabinet expansion: Parameshwara

Published On : 28 Aug 2017

Hubballi, (DHNS): Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwara said on Sunday that they are waiting for Governor Vajubhai Vala’s date for cabinet expansion.

Speaking to mediapersons at the Hubballi airport, he said, the chief minister - in consultation with the high command - has selected the candidates to be inducted into the cabinet. The chief minister will expand the ministry after getting the Governor’s date.

He, however, did not reveal the names of the selected candidates.Parameshwara said, the BJP leaders are terming the pre-poll survey by C-fore, which has predicted a Congress win in the state, as a paid survey because it is not in their favour.

“Let us assume that the survey is a paid survey of the Congress. But, what is preventing the BJP from releasing its internal survey,” he questioned.

“Even the result of that survey favours the Congress, which is why they are not releasing the findings,” the former minister said.

“We have not relied on any survey, and we are confident of regaining power in 2018 on the basis of our party’s strength, good and clean governance given by us in the last four-and-half-years,” he added.
